Gaurav Nilakantan

About Me

I did my schooling in National Public School, Bangalore and majored in PCM-Computer Science. In 2003, I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the PES Institute of Technology, part of Visveswaraiah Technological University, Karnataka, India. In 2006, I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, OH, USA. I am a current PhD student in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware, DE, USA, and am a member of the Center for Composite Materials.

My father is an IIT, Chennai and IIM, Ahmedabad alumnus and is a leading supply chain and management consultant in India. My mother is a writer and an aerobics instructor. My elder brother is pursuing a PhD in Economics from the University of Southern California, LA, USA. My father’s brother completed his PhD from MIT, MA, USA and is a Business Director at 3M, USA.

I enjoy cooking, gymming, and sports including badminton, cricket, tennis, basketball, snooker, and table tennis.
